Description

About TRIP - Background

The main objectives that lie at the basis of the development of the Transport Research and Innovation Portal (TRIP) are twofold.

The first objective is to improve access to knowledge in the European Research Area and beyond through the appropriate dissemination and promotion of the transport research results. The second objective is to reinforce the link between transport research and transport policy through the provision of accurate, timely and complete information on key deliverables of transport research projects.

This is a response to the Treaty of the European Union which has, as its goal the dissemination and promotion of research results produced within the Framework Programme, to guarantee public awareness and share the benefit of the resources invested. A central theme of the research policy of the Treaty of Lisbon is the establishment of a European Research Area (ERA) in which researchers, scientific knowledge and technology circulate freely.

The Transport Research and Innovation Portal, has as its primary goal the dissemination and promotion of transport research, supporting the above and bringing together transport research and policy-making inside and outside the EU.

TRIP is the new name given to the former TRKC

17 Apr 2012:

The brand new TRIP portal continues the initiative known as Transport Research Knowledge Centre (TRKC), which was created in 1997 and strongly contributed to a wide dissemination and promotion of transport research & innovation. TRIP is currently funded by DG Move under the 7FP.

Among the new features, TRIP users will find an improved search engine (the full text search) and a wider projects database, including an enriched record of project deliverables and documents. Former services will continue as in the past: release of thematic and policy Publications, monthly e-Newsletters and a constantly up-to-date Events calendar of major transport research conferences worldwide.

Any feedback, remark or question is very welcomed to let us better serve your needs. Don’t hesitate to contact the TRIP helpdesk
