CUP - Competence @ University of Prishtina

"CUP - Competence @ University of Prishtina" is funded by the European Commission (Tempus program). The aim of this project is to provide means for adapting university curricula to the needs of the labor market in order to boost regional economic development and to enhance the employability of their graduates, for the benefit of the society as a whole. Therefore a “Competence and Observation Center (COC)” has been established at the campus of the University of Prishtina.

Project goals

From 2010 to 2013 project partners are cooperating for the achievement of the following main goals:
  • Development or advancement of an applied methodology including the necessary tools to match competences and skills offered by higher education study programs and those which are needed on the labor market
  • Foundation of one Competence and Observation Center: National knowledge transfer, training & service centers for universities, companies and other stakeholders
  • Installing Info Terminals (Student Guidance Systems) for students, professors and visitors of the University of Prishtina on 32 strategic locations at the UP campuses
  • Conducting of 5 pilot studies for the knowledge, skills and competences analysis in order to have best practice examples
  • Development of "Competence Catalogues" – a tool to clearly analyze the match between competences
  • Dissemination of project philosophy, approach and results to academic, business and political stakeholders
  • Assurance of sustainability of the project outcomes and quality control
