The European Research Council has published the results for the 2009 Advanced Grants call.

As regards the second call ERC Starting Grant 2009 outcome: an Albanian national is among the grantees (top 237 proposals) according to available indicative statistics.

The European Research Council has published the results for the 2009 Advanced Grants call. So far, 236 proposals have been selected for funding, amounting to a total of €515 million and giving an overall success rate of around fifteen per cent. The Physical Sciences and Engineering subject domain accounted for 105 of the funded proposals, 44 per cent of the total, while 89 of the funded proposals, representing 38 per cent of the total, came from the Life Sciences domain. The Social Sciences and Humanities domain saw 42 proposals funded. The individual researchers selected for funding are nationals of 26 different countries, and will be hosted by institutions in 18 countries.

The 2010 Starting Grant call, which is currently under assessment, saw an increase in the number of proposals submitted, with 2873 received in comparison to the 2503 received in the 2009 call, representing a rise of 15 per cent. In spite of this, the success rate is expected to go from around 9.5 per cent in 2009 to approximately 15 per cent, due to the substantial increase in budget from €296 million to €528 million. Of the proposals submitted, 1205 were submitted to the Physical Sciences and Engineering Domain, 1029 to the Life Sciences Domain and 639 to the Social Sciences and Humanities Domain.
