News archive - [Event Announcement] EUREKA Regional Conference

A priority of the Hungarian EUREKA Chairmanship is to begin exploring the regional dimension of EUREKA. At times of austerity alternative sources of funding need to be investigated more than ever such exploration is auspicious. Regional funds, particularly the EU Cohesion Policy instruments, are a major source of financing that can complement other schemes. These instruments represent one-third of the total European Commission budget and, of that, 25% is dedicated to research, development and innovation activities. Last October, the European Commission drafted a new Cohesion Policy proposal to the Council and the Parliament for the 2014-2020 period.

On March 8 a regional workshop is dedicated to discuss the synergies between EUREKA, regional funding initiatives and networks such as SEE-ERA.NET (PLUS) and the Danube Strategy Priority 7 which aims to establish a fund for research and innovation. This event is jointly organised with WBC-INCO.NET.

On the same day, also networking sessions for EUREKA are foreseen.
