News archive - Call for Proposals: Research Cooperation and Networking between Austria, the public higher education institutions in Kosovo and South Eastern Europe
The Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices Ljubljana/Slovenia and Sofia/Bulgaria (ASOs) announce a Call for proposals for projects in Research Cooperation and Networking between institutions in Austria, Kosovo and South Eastern Europe (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia) in the framework of "Multidimensional Project for the Implementation of an Institutionalised Partnership between Austria and Kosovo in the Field of Higher Education, Research and Innovation". Deadline is April 10, 2009.
This thematically open call wants to intensify the short-term cooperation in the scientific field with the aim to support the development of long-term scientific collaboration. Funding is provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (bmwf) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in the framework of "Multidimensional Project for the Implementation of an Institutionalised Partnership between Austria and Kosovo in the Field of Higher Education, Research and Innovation". http://www.aei-austria-kosovo.com/
This call is open to April 10, 2009 (date of post mark).
The funding available is 180.000 Euro; a maximum of 12.000 euro per project is envisaged. The allowable funding per project must be justified by the content, work load, duration and number of teams involved. For projects with higher than average financial costs, cofinancing is expected.
The funded activities shall enable scientists from Austria, Kosovo and South Eastern European countries to work together on mutually beneficial science driven projects and empower especially young researchers in Kovovo to cooperate with international project partners. The main goals are the stimulation of research cooperation between Austrian and Kosovar research institutions and to empower young researchers. Possible project activities are: comparative studies, small empirical investigations, mapping and know-how exchange on European standards and practices in the chosen research area. The activities should therefore build on already existing scientific results.
The contractor has to be a research institution from Austria. Eligible participants are universities, non-university research institutions and tertiary education organisations. From Kosovo only public higher education institutions are eligible. The consortium composition must include one partner from Austria, one partner from Kosovo and at least one partner from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
