News archive - Call for Proposals: Croatia - Israel Scientific Research Cooperation

Within the framework of the Israeli-Croatian agreement on scientific cooperation, Croatian-Israeli research teams are invited to submit joint proposals. Deadline for applications is May 1, 2008.

Projects should last 2 years and related to one of the following six categories:

  1. Biomedicine, Biomedical Engineering
  2. Biotechnology
  3. Environment, Agriculture, Water
  4. Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electro - Engineering
  5. Chemistry, Advanced Materials, Energy, Nano-Technology
  6. Computer Science and Informatics

Cooperation may take the form of:

  • joint research activities where interdependent subprojects of a single program are conducted in the Croatian and the Israeli laboratories;
  • complementary methodological approaches to a joint problem;
  • joint use of research facilities, materials, equipment and/or services by cooperating scientists;
  • joint planning of research and evaluation of results

Participating scientists are encouraged to spend an extended period of time visiting their counterpartÂ’s institutions.

The expected starting date for approved projects is September 1, 2008.

The framework of funding is 600,000 USD for the overall research cooperation, for the period of two years, divided equally between the parties.
Support will be given to 6 joint projects requiring a budget of up to 100,000 USD (25,000 USD for each side per year). Projects should be planned on a two year basis. Contracts will be signed accordingly.
