News archive - Grants for Kosovar ICT researchers to participate in the ICT Proposers Day in Warsaw (September 26-27, 2012)

Travel grants to five researchers are offered by the project ICT-KOSEU: Dialogue and Cooperation Between EU & Kosovo in ICT R & D, which is supported by the European Commission’s FP7 ICT programme. The travel grants will have a total value of up to €800 per person and will cover travel costs (tickets), accommodation expenses and a contribution towards VISA expenses. The deadline for submitting the Expressions of Interest is July 18, 2012.

The travel grant is open to all researchers from academia, private companies and public organisations of Kosovo who are interested in participating in the FP7 ICT Calls and in presenting their expertise and project ideas to a wide audience of potential partners.

Interested researchers have to complete the EoI Travel Grant_ICT_Proposers_12-1 and to commit to providing any costs additional to the amount of €800 through own means.

The selection will be based on the expression of interest to be completed by the interested researchers, notably on the research capability and interest and on the value-add that participation in the ICT Proposers Day will offer.


The ICT Proposers Day is one of the largest European ICT events and a unique networking opportunity to build partnerships and projects for preparing proposals that target Calls within the new FP7 Information and Communication Technologies Work Programme for 2013. Everyone who is interested in responding to calls for proposals for R&D projects in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.
It is an exceptional occasion to meet potential partners from academia, research institutes, business and industry, SMEs and government actors from all over . More than 2000 participants are expected to attend!
The event provides:

  • an opportunity to present and discuss your project idea during one of the networking sessions
  • a platform for exchanging ideas and finding right partners to form project consortia
  • guidance on how to present a successful proposal
  • first-hand information from European Commission officials on the ICT Work Programme 2013, offering around 1.5 billion euro of EU funding
  • answers to questions related to the upcoming calls for proposals ICT Call 10 and ICT Call 11.

The programme consists of:

  • networking sessions on the Challenges and Objectives of the new ICT Work Programme 2013, where potential proposers will present their project ideas
  • information sessions on how to prepare and submit a proposal

In addition there will be ample possibility for informal networking and bilateral pre-arranged meetings between visitors.

How it works
•        The event is based on prior preparation for networking through its dedicated website (http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/ictproposersday/2012/index_en.htm)
•         Each participant registers online for the ICT Proposers Day 2012 (there is no registration fee).
•         Registration requires careful creation and uploading of a public profile so as to ensure the best possible matchmaking. Participants have the chance to insert information about them or about their organisation, a picture, to upload CV or any other professional profile description document and also to add links to webpages, online videos or other documents that describe his experience, interest in ICT and expertise.
•         REGISTERED only participants have the chance to submit a project idea and to browse through other people’s ideas after having identified the Work Programme areas of interest to them by selecting the according objectives.
•         By agreeing to a public profile a participant has the opportunity to make potential partners aware of his/her preferences and his/her expertise visible to them.
•         Registered participants will have the chance to virtually meet potential partners using the online forum.
