Georg Panholzer is responsible for the evaluation of the CIR-CE programme ("Co-operation in Innovation and Research with Central and Eastern Europe"), which aimed to identify and strategically untlise synergies and complementarities between Austria and its partners in Central/Eastern and South Eastern Europe. The focus of the programme was on the opportunities and needs of the technology-oriented corporate sector. The main objective is to strengthen joint endavours in the global environment.

His unit is also involved the new programme COIN (Cooperation & Innovation), a common initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology. It aims at stimmulating innovation in enterprises and implementing knowledge in terms of innovation by approaching both intermediaries (universities of applied science, research institutions, centres of innovation...) and enterprises.
