Prof. Dr. Mira Vukcevic was born on April 29, 1961 in Podgorica, Montenegro. She graduated in 1984 at the Faculty of Metallurgy, Podgorica, defended her MSc thesis in 1990 at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Belgrade, and her PhD thesis in 1993 at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, Podgorica. She finished her scientific specialization at Facolta di Ingeneria, Dipartimento delle Science di materiali, Universita di Ancona, 2000, and Politecnico di Torino, Dipartimento di Materiali, 1999. She is working as a full professor and the Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Chemical Technology in Podgorica, Montenegro. Her field of scientific interest is the Metallurgy of Light Metals and Powder Metallurgy.Prof. M. Vukcevic is a member of the European Materials Research Society (EMRS), American Powder Metallurgy Institute (APMI) and Yugoslav Materials Research Society (YUMRS). She participated in the evaluation process for EC, in Brussels 2004, for the INCO-WBC SSA3, and in the following Governmental Bodies financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro: Council for scientific and research activities (President), Council for Specialized Education (Member), Vicepresident of the Commission for the Scientific Research, Development and International Cooperation.She also participated in projects financed by TEMPUS: Developing Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Montenegro (2002), and Bologna Promoters at the University; and by EUROPEAN COMMISSION: Technical leader of the Montenegrin participation in project SEE-ERA-NET financed under INCO-SSA call (2004), Director of the submitted project „Improvement and renewal of the environmental engineering Laboratory“, under the INCO-WBC-SSA3 call (December, 2005), and UNIDO project - Clean Production Program in Montenegro.Prof. Mira Vukcevic is the author of two textbooks and around 50 published papers.
