Balkan Agro Food Network

BAFN (Balkan Agro Food Network) is a project financed under the 6th Framework Programme aiming at stimulating the agrifood research in the Western Balkan Countries, which ended in Aprol 2008. During this project, several actions were undertaken to prepare the participation in research projects supported by the European Union. In a first step, researchers from universities, research institutes and NGOs, as well as private companies from the agricultural and food sector were invited to register in an on-line database. This database helps to promote competencies and initiate cooperation with research groups, researchers and private companies from the European Union. In a second step, consultations of the registered experts are organised.

At the beginning of December 2006, more than 160 research groups, 350 researchers and 65 companies already expressed their interest and registered on the information platform bafn.eu."
