EcoDaLLi (ECOsystem-based governance with DAnube lighthouse Living Lab for sustainable Innovation processes)
The EcoDaLLi project is a CSA supported by the «Restore our oceans, seas and waters by 2030» Mission. The project is coordinated by the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum and was officially launched in January 2023. It aims to centralise Danube governance structures to support the uptake of innovations for improved ecological restoration, protection and preservation of the Danube basin and its delta. It will therefore contribute to the implementation of the Danube Light House. EcoDaLLi seeks as well to foster a stronger innovation ecosystem through a well-connected living labs system.
As part of the EU mission "Restore our oceans, seas and water bodies by 2030", the project, known by the acronym EcoDaLLi, is helping to achieve the freshwater goals of the European Green Deal. A systemic approach for the restoration, protection and preservation of the entire Danube catchment area is being developed and guaranteed through coordinated measures.
The main goal of the project, which officially started in early 2023, is to centralize the Danube governance structures. It supports innovations for improved ecological restoration, protection and conservation of the Danube River Basin and its delta. It does this by fostering a well-connected Living Lab system, supported by a digital portal fully connected to the EU Missions Implementation Platform.
EcoDaLLi will support innovators to connect to governance structures by:
- providing and maintaining networks,
- developing special living labs for the joint creation of knowledge,
- creating a bespoke digital portal to experiment with new solutions
- and by supporting the innovation ecosystem to create circular services for a sustainable blue economy in the Danube River Basin and beyond.
