Tackling Climate Change 2022
In the past 5 years, the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development of North Macedonia has been conducting numerous thematic challenges on various topics of specific social interest including challenges related to the green economy such as “O2 Challenge for decreasing the pollution in urban areas”, “O2 Challenge – Action for positive climate change”, and the most recent one – “Tackling Climate Change 2022”.
The objective of “Tackling Climate Change 2022” is to enhance the development of innovative technologies, products and processes which would prevent and mitigate the consequences of climate change, as well as to encourage the entrepreneurial activities in this area, specifically among the SMEs. Total budget for this call is approx.122.000 EUR with maximum of 24.400 EUR FITD co-financing per project. Applicants are required to provide their own contribution of minimum 10% of the total budget amount. The closing date of the call was on 01.09.2022, a total of 25 applications have been received and the evaluation process is ongoing.
“Tackling Climate Change 2022” stems from the Preparedness Support Program of the Green Climate Fund - "Strengthening the national capacities for adaptation and mitigation of climate change and finalizing the national Work Program of Republic of North Macedonia" (http://www.greendevelopment.mk/mk/readiness-programme.aspx), in the direction of promoting the participation of the private sector in coping activities and investments.
