Current Practices of Science Communication in Western Balkan Countries and their Impacts

The Centre for Southeast European Studies (CSEES) implemented a project titled "Current Practices of Science Communication in Western Balkan Countries and their Impacts" supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation project PERFORM. Science communication is a key element of any research system. Good science communication is of benefit to the individual researcher, for the community of researchers, their institutions, policy and decision makers, and the wider public. However, communication and collaboration within the scientific community in Albania and Serbia is rather weak and fragmented.

For this purpose, PERFORM requested a group of consultants / researchers led by CSEES to conduct a study aiming to improve scientific communication in the two countries. Based on the findings, the group is expected to come up with recommendations for enhancing the performance of science communication. The project runs from June until October 2017.
