"The Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) was opened in October 2004 in Sarajevo as the first private university in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Dedicated to providing highest quality, modern and internationally competitive education, SSST has established a collaboration with the University of Buckingham (UK) and is required to meet the academic standards of the University of Buckingham and the United Kingdom. SSST graduates receive their degrees both from the SSST and the University of Buckingham.

To fulfill its mandate for excellence, SSST has developed a faculty of both foreign educated and trained Bosnians and non-Bosnians, many from the world's leading universities. The faculty is actively engaged in research within their fields assuring that they represent the "cutting edge" of both research and innovative teaching methodology.

Although started as a Science and Technology school emphasizing Computer Science and Information Systems, SSST has now attained university status and is in the process of adding Majors in Political Science/International Relations and Economics to its growing course offerings. The total SSST curricula seeks to transfer not only technical academic skills but build confident and worldly graduates prepared for the competitive international environment. To this end, students and faculty at SSST are encouraged to broaden their university experience by exposure to the arts and culture of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its neighbors, get to know their growing number of non-Bosnian class-mates and Professors, and take advantage of the linkages being developed with neighboring countries, the U.S., the U.K., Turkey, Ireland, Malaysia and elsewhere."
