The Department of Free Zones and Clusters Development and Export Support carries out activities related to establishing of free zones and warehouses, pursues procedures for passing decisions on granting concessions for establishing of fee zones, as well as consent for establishing warehouses, coordinates activities related to establishing conditions for starting of operations of free zones and warehouses, maintains register of free zones and warehouses, of industrial zones, clusters, technological parks and districts,

follows up and analyses the operations within the free zones and warehouses, clusters, and proposes measures for development of their operation, carries out promotional and marketing activities aimed at internationalization of Croatian economy, as well as the promotion of technology transfer, innovation and knowledge, plans and carries out activities referring to promotional marketing activities, aimed at attracting capital in the free zones and clusters, maintains records and prepares annual reports on free zones operations, proposes and improves the legal regulations with the purpose of improving the investment conditions,

cooperates with other national authorities of the Republic of Croatia with the goal of establishing the necessary organizational structure for enforcement of laws and other regulations referring to free zones, industrial zones and clusters in the Republic of Croatia, prepares drafts of regulations stipulating the legal issues and follows up the implementation of legal regulations; carries out the activities concerning the planning, development and improving the prospects for Croatian export promotion, as well as enhancing all aspects of export activities of Croatian economic operators;

analyses and follows up the trends in international economic relations, plans and develops promotion strategy for export of Croatian goods and services, prepares reports and provides professional information within its competence;

provides technical and counselling assistance to Croatian companies – exporters and cooperates with other national, local and economic institutions in certain export projects, as well as international trade projects, carries out all activities related to drafting and implementation of legal regulations concerning the export promotion, referring to the section of approval of incentive measures and other export subventions, receives and analyses the requests for granting incentive measures and other export subventions, maintains the corresponding records and supervises the application of incentive measures and other export subventions and carries out other activities within its scope.
