Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre at the University of Zenica
In 2007 the European Union provided funds for the establishment of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (CIP) at the University in Zenica (UNZE). EU funding was made available through the TEMPUS programme (Trans-European Mobility Scheme for University Studies). The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre UNZE defines its mission in close cooperation and implementation of joint programmes and projects with the Business Start-Up Centre Zenica, Local and Regional Development Agencies – ZEDA and REZ, Business Service Centre (BSC) of the Cantonal Government, Business Incubator Zenica and Business Incubator Vitez.
The main goals of the project are:
• To promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members;
• To train trainers;
• To create workshops in future technology and practices;
• To provide consulting services to enterprises;
• And to spread knowledge and expertise that will contribute to economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The centre currently employs 2 persons and engages associates from University on project basis. It cooperates closely with all faculties and institutes within the University of Zenica.
The Centre has currently two departments:
• The Department for Enterpreneurship
• The Department for Business Development (market research, development and design of prototypes, technology and organisational planning)
