The Municipality of Prijedor and the Economic Development Agency Prijedor (PREDA-PD) initiated the creation of the Business Incubator Prijedor with the
financial support of Italian programme SEENET, German GTZ, and Swiss SDC.
The Municipality used the property of former army barracks of Palančište (18,063 m²) and now after the redevelopment and reconstruction of the facilities, the renovated object consists of management of the Incubator, surface and other business space. In 2009 two more buildings were ready for occupancy. Combined, the two renovated buildings offer 688 m² of office space. The second phase was realised with support of funds from European Commission.
The Incubator offers 1.271 m² of office space and there are 7 start-up companies with 41 employees. Average utilisation accounts for 77%. The running costs of the incubator are financed by the Municipality of Prijedor. There are plans to extend the Incubator.
