Description

The coordination of SME policies at state level with the other entities (Republic of Srpska, Brcko District and Federation of BiH) is one of the
responsibilities of MoFTER. The Department for entrepreneurship of the MoFTER is in charge of:
• Development of pre-drafts, drafts and law proposals other regulations and general acts;
• Implementation of applicable regulations;
• Development of expert analysis;

• Information and proposal for the establishment of development policies in the areas of economy;
• Macroeconomic analysis and economic growth forecast of BiH;
• Development of analysis and information for the institutions in BiH regarding development;
• Proposing measures for economic policy in cooperation with entities;
• Development of platforms for meetings with foreign delegations;
• Preparation and development of policy for establishment, work and development of small and medium enterprises (SME);
• Development of strategy for small and medium enterprises support.
MoFTER formulated a new SME development strategy for the period 2009- 2011. The strategy includes the creation of a SME agency at national level
aiming to coordinate the strategic framework; to establish a Development and Entrepreneurship Fund as well as a SME Council. The adoption seems to be stalled at the moment (February 2011).
