Description

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport (MIZS) is responsible for defining the strategic and developmental goals from the fields of primary education, secondary education, higher education, research and development activities in Slovenia, defines the cultural policy and policy for sports. More specifically in relation to research it defines the expert bases for the adoption of political documents in the field of research policy. It drafts laws and implementing regulations on research activities. It establishes and enhances the system of comprehensive analyses and monitoring of the situation and development in research, develops new tools for attaining research policy goals, and plans the required financial resources for research.

Previous experience: WP2 leader under the SEE-ERA.NET project (organising workshops and conducting interviews with researchers and government representatives from WBC, analytical work on national systems of RTD in WBC and RTD Needs Analysis of the WBC), ERA-WESTBALKAN (research landscape overview of WBC, identification and handling of client base, preparation of information material on FP6) and ERA-WESTBALKAN+ (network building to initiate contacts between leading research centres in the participating MS with their counterparts in WBC), management of other Era-Nets: HERA, INCITE, OSIRIS, JHEP (Cultural Heritage), Net4Society, Brain Bridges.
