Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Belgrade
Institute Vinca is the largest multidisciplinary institute in Serbia. Founded in 1948 as the Institute for Physics, a nuclear science research center, during the two subsequent decades its program changed in favour of non-nuclear issues associated with the country’s industrial development. Today 820 people are employed in the Institute, ~400 are researchers working in 16 laboratories which cover the areas of physics, chemistry, biology, radiation protection, energy technologies, materials and environment protection.
