"EAIR became an independent membership organisation in 1989. Over the years it has expanded considerably and has currently over 500 members from 40 different countries all over the world, including South Africa, South America, Asia and Australasia. EAIR is a unique organisation insofar as it brings together researchers, policy makers and practitioners in the field of higher education and thus can facilitate an exchange and cross-fertilisation of theory and practice. The annual EAIR forum-numbered from its establishment in Europe by its North American counterpart, AIR, in 1979--is the opportunity for all members to gather together, exchange information, give and listen to presentations, network with colleagues from abroad, meet new and interesting people. Selected papers from the annual EAIR Forum are considered for publication in Tertiary Education and Management (TEAM)--the journal of EAIR.
