"Danubius" University Galati is a private higher education institution founded in 1992 and accredited by the 409/09.07.2002 law; it is an institution of public utility part of the national educational system under the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth. "Danubius" University comprises 4 faculties (Law, Economics, International Relations and Communication Sciences), deploying day courses and distance education for graduate and master studies. The university is developing a Centre for Integrated Services in Continuous Training (SIFCO) in partnership with town and county councils, committed in the analysis of qualification demand and contributing to qualification improvement for companies in the region, aiming to develop human resources on EU structural funds.
"Danubius" University participates in Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci programmes (now LLP) in mobility projects with universities from Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Poland, also in international studies on qualifications and education. Areas of research refer to legislation and economic matters in the transition economy, also in Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems applied in diagnosis and management of technical and economical systems.
