The Montenegrin Employers Federation (MEF) is an independent, nongovernmental, non-political and non-profit organization based on voluntary membership, formed with support of International Organization of Employers (IOE) and International Labor Organization (ILO) with an aim of representing interests of employers through the  promotion of social dialogue.                                                                             

MEF objectives: presentation and promotion of employers interests in their relation to Government and Trade Union as well as with other institutions; development, implementation and improvement of social dialogue; promotion and protection of small and medium entrepreneurship, creation of favorable environment for its development; promotion and protection of private initiative; promotion of employers and enterprises rights and freedoms; protection of competition and favorable environment for enterprise development; promote policies at the national and international level that are conducive to stable economic growth and sustainable development; representation, positioning and cooperation on international level; membership associations of employers on international level.

MEF is a member of IOE and BusinessEurope and one of the founding members of Adriatic Region Employers’ Centre (AREC), with headquarters in Zagreb.

MEF is a member of United Nations strategic initiative for entrepreneurs – UN Global Compact.

MEF is the founder of Association of Businesswomen in Montenegro, it has established the Association of Craftsmen, small and medium enterprises, and given full support to the project of founding the Institute for Research and Development of SMEs.

MEF membership includes small and medium enterprises, associations of employers (business associations) and large economic systems. MEF members make around 85% of GDP in overall Montenegrin economy.

MEF supports the development of small and medium enterprises (SME) in Montenegro by offering the services such as:

·         Free presentation of MEF members within MEF webpage;

·         Free marketing promotion (MEF business handbook);

·         Consulting services;

·         Free brochures published on the topics important for business performance;

·         Foreign languages interpreting services;

·         Providing information on regular basis about laws, legal acts… information important for performing business;

·         Discounts for products and services offered by mef members (within the project “employers for employers”);

·         Participation in seminars, workshops and trainings;

·         Participation in roundtables on the topics important for business performance;

·         Participation in international fairs and conferences.
