News archive - [Event Announcement] INORMS 2012 Congress for Research Administrators and -Managers, Copenhagen - Registration open!

INORMS is the International Network of Research Management Societies. Every second year an international INORMS congress is held somewhere in the world. This year it is organised by the Danish Association of Research Managers and Administrators and will take place in Copenhagen May 13-16, 2012.

This year the congress will focus on the individual research manager and administrator in his or her many capacities. The different aspects of this profession will be explored: the interaction with researchers, funders and other administrators; how cooperation and interdisciplinarity are facilitated; how research managers are gate keepers; work in teams and many other aspects.

The programme consists of three general tracks:

MAN
This track focuses on us as individuals. The sessions will focus on professional development, examples of best practice, career development, new skills and related types of sessions.

MACHINE
This track focuses on the teams and organizations we work in at various levels. Compliance, ethics, knowledge and technology transfer, innovation, decision making support could be examples of sessios.

MEANS
This track focuses on funding issues and infrastructures in general. The conditions for funding and how to work with funders will be covered in these sessions.

During the selection process, these seven sub-tracks emerged:
1. Integrity, compliance and ethical issues
2. Measuring performance – key performance indicators in research administration
3. Career development, focusing on young researchers
4. Working to strengthen multidisciplinary research
5. Towards a Professional Development Framework for Research Administrators
6. Building and developing emerging research institutions
7. Data management systems

Please find a brief description of the sub-tracks with session titles and speakers in the programme below.

A number of sessions do not fall into these seven sub-tracks and are listed seperately as general sessions.
