News archive - [Event Announcement & Call for Papers] Conference Microgen III - "The 3rd International Conference on Microgeneration and Related Technologies"

The next Conference Microgen III - "The 3rd International Conference on Microgeneration and Related Technologies" will take place in Naples on April 15-17, 2013 and will be hosted by the "Second University of Naples" and "Sannio University". Deadline for the Submission of Abstracts: September 30, 2012.

Microgen III will continue the tradition of presenting the latest research, development and demonstration results in a broad range of microgeneration technologies including technical and policy analyses, deployment strategies, comparative analysis, and studies on sustainability and societal and environmental impacts. International experts will share their vision, extensive experience and knowledge gained through modelling, laboratory and field trials and will discuss the applications of a variety of microgeneration technologies in the residential/commercial energy sector world wide.

The conference theme is promoting “the transition to high efficiency distributed energy systems”, focusing on the diffusion of low carbon microgeneration technologies for residential and small commercial applications, with a special attention on building integration and grid interconnection.

Microcogeneration, micropolygeneration (combined cooling, heating and power generation) and hybrid systems (both fossil and renewable fuelled) will be covered. Contributions on related microtechnologies, such as wind, PV-T, solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps (thermally, mechanically or electrically activated) are welcome.

Papers are accepted in the following themes:

  • Developments in microgeneration and related technologies
  • Practical experiences with microgeneration
  • Modelling and experimental analysis of micro generation systems
  • Integration and control of microgeneration, energy storage and demand side management technologies
  • Market&Policy for micro generation
  • Impact of microgeneration (e.g. on the grid, on district heating/cooling systems, social impact, environmental sustainability, etc.)

Further information on the Call for Papers can be found in the document below or at: http://www.microgen3.eu/submissions

A full afternoon of the conference will be industry-focused featuring contributions from industry experts and highlighting commercial perspectives on the future development of the technology in this emergent field. At the present the organisers have obtained the support and/or the contribution of the following institutions:

  • The IEA (International Energy Agency) Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems (ECBCS),
  • Canmet ENERGY Canada,
  • ENEA (Italian National agency for new technologies, Energy and sustainable economic development),
  • WADE (World Alliance for Decentralize Energy).
