The project NOVAREGIO is coordinated by AREA Science Park of Trieste and aimed at identifying best European practices for knowledge transfer and thus at contributing to greater convergence of RTD policies in Europe.

NOVAREGIO objectives include identifying the best innovation policies and practices to be promoted and taken on as models, as well as providing assistance to regional public administrations for self-evaluating their innovation policies, so that new knowledge for increasing the competitiveness of the territories and their relevant economic and productive systems can be acquired.

The seminar is addressed to those who are responsible for and implement European regional policies. It is targeted at facilitating networking and exchange of experiences in the field of financing for research and innovation.

A further final event will be held in Brussels November 21, 2007 and will be devoted to the final discussion of NOVAREGIO results as well as to the presentation of the handbook "Regional RTD and Innovation Policies and Practices", resulting from the benchmarking exercise that led to the identification of the 11 best practices.
