News archive - Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) - New Calls

The European Commission has launched a new call within the framework of the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES), endowed with a budget of 30 million Euros.

With this new scheme introduced in FP7, the European Commission supports long-term, research based exchange programmes between European research organisations (based in EU member states or in states associated to FP7) and their counterparts in countries with S&T agreements (e.g. USA, China) or countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy (e.g. Moldova, Ukraine).

Deadline: March 27, 2009.

Requirements:

The partnership must consist of at least 3 independent participants, of which two must be established in two different EU Member States/Associated Countries and one in a country with an S&T agreement or covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy (see also http://ec.europa.eu/research/iscp/pdf/st_agreement_ec_euratom_en.pdf). The participating institutions may exchange researcher staff as well as technical or managerial staff for a duration of up to 12 months. However the staff exchange is not possible between organisations from EU Member States or Associated Countries. There is no limit concerning the number of staff exchanged.

Financial issues:

The EU-contribution of 1,800 EUR per researcher-month (irrespective of the country) can only be provided for participating organisations in EU Member States/Associated Countries for a period of 2-4 years (in exceptional cases it can also be provided for participants from ICPC-Countries).

Application procedure:
Applications for this scheme can only be submitted to the European Commission via the Electronic Proposal Submission System (EPSS) following a Call for Proposals.
