News archive - Herder Scholarship Offered for Excellent Students from CEE/SEE

The Alfred Toepfer Foundation is supporting students willing to spend some time at a university in Vienna, Austria for the final stage of a degree, a higher degree or PhD. Students from all WBC are eligible in this programme, however the range of eligible disciplines is limited.

Application deadline: November 30, 2010.

Supported fields of study

Students from the fields of European studies, the cultural sciences, humanities and social sciences, the fine arts, music, architecture as well as agricultural sciences and forestry are invited to apply.

Target group

The scholarship is aimed at
- Central and Eastern European students under the age of 30 and
- Central and Eastern European PhD students under the age of 35 (PhD students over 30 should give an explanaition in their application letter).
who wish to complete an academic degree in Vienna. Baccalaureate studies cannot be sponsored, nor can research visits to Vienna.

Applicants must have a sufficient level of German skills.

The duration of sponsorship can be up to one year. The amount of money paid out is 920 € per month.


Selection committee

The scholars are selected by an independent committee.
