News archive - Apply now for "The Best ICT4EE Project Award"

The European Commission's DG INFSO has launched a competition in the field of  ICT for energy efficiency - "The Best ICT4EE Project Award". The winner will be selected by a combination of both internet voting and an expert jury.

The aim of the competition is to promote innovation in ICT that will contribute to substantial and measurable improvements in energy efficiency, and that have the potential to provide visible and convincing showcases for investment by business, citizens or both.

Closing date: August 31, 2009.

The Best ICT4EE Project Award is open to all publicly funded research and technological development projects that involve one or more participants having research and/or business interests in each of the ICT and energy domains. Projects must have a dedicated website. Finished projects are also eligible on condition that they have a dedicated website that has been adequately maintained in the meantime.

The application process is rather simple: Entrants should log on to the ICT4EE website and enter the address of their own project website. Nothing else. All three finalists will be awarded with a certificate signed by representatives of the European Commission and the Presidency of the European Union. The jury will also select the overall Winner of the Best ICT4EE project, who will be awarded a Grand Prize.
