News archive - Event Review: Summit Economic Forum (SEF) 2009

The Summit Economic Forum (SEF) is the annual flagship event of the Central European Initiative, serving as a platform to support and promote the CEI strategy of fostering regional cooperation, European integration, and economic transition in Central and Eastern Europe. Under the title “The Way Ahead: Towards a Better Future”, the 12th Summit Economic Forum focused on solutions to the current economic crisis.

The SEF 2009 sessions focused on topics such as energy efficiency and climate change, the actions needed to tackle the global financial situation, the business opportunity for SMEs in the CEI Region, the importance of JASPERS, and the role of the World Bank Group in supporting economic recovery in the CEI Region.

As in the previous years, in addition to government representatives, the Summit Economic Forum gathered representatives of the business and finance community, industry leaders, international financial institutions, professionals and consultants, lawyers and hundreds of businessmen (click here to access the Summit Booklet).
