News archive - [Event Announcement] Conference "Improving impact assessment for policy making"

The conference for policy makers and practioners of impact assessment and evaluation will take place as a Belgian EU Presidency Conference in Brussels on December 8, 2010 at BELSPO - EWI. It is the final conference of the project CIA4OPM (Optimising the policy mix by the development of a common methodology for the assessment of (socio-) economic impacts of RTDI public funding).

Launched in March 2009, CIA4OPM (Optimising the policy mix by the development of a common methodology for the assessment of (socio-) economic impacts of RTDI public funding), brings together a network of 15 partners from around Europe (a mix of EU member states and Associated MS) with the goal of exchanging information and learning from each other on national activities with respect to the assessment of (socio-) economic impacts of public funding (policies and instruments) of Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RTDI).
The primary goal of the OMC-net project is to increase the usefulness of impact assessment in the context of RTDI policy formulation, or, in other words, to make impact assessment a useful tool for policy making.
Now is the moment of taking stock on where we got with the project so far. What have we learned so far? What are the critical elements? How can we continue? These questions will be answered during this one-day conference.
