News archive - Serbia: Science and Technology Park in Novi Sad to be constructed

An investment of 20.5 million euros is foreseen for construction and equipment of a Science and Technology Park in Novi Sad.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic signed the protocol on construction of Science and Technology Park and the central building of the University with the Prime Minister of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic and representatives of the University of Novi Sad (UNS).

Upon signing the document, Djelic stated that the construction and equipping of a modern Science and Technology park will have investment of 20.5 million euros, 11 million is provided by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development through the financial arrangement with the European Investment Bank, whilst the remainder investment will be provided by the province town of Novi Sad and UNS.

This and similar projects in Serbia are the right answer to the brain drain. This is the way to create conditions for foundation of companies within the university campus, added Djelic.

Construction works for the building University are expected to start in spring 2011.
