News archive - Montenegro signs association agreement for another EU Programme: Culture
The EU and Montenegro signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enable beneficiaries from Montenegro to participate from 2010 onwards in the Culture Programme 2007-2013. Montenegro becomes the third country from the Western Balkans to participate in the programme, Croatia joined in 2007 and Serbia joined in 2008.
The EU’s Culture programme aims at enhancing Europe's shared cultural heritage through the development of cross-border co-operation between cultural operators and institutions, with a view to encouraging the emergence of European citizenship.
The programme aims at three main objectives:
- promotion of the trans-national mobility of people working in the cultural sector;
- support for the transnational circulation of cultural and artistic works and products;
- and promotion of inter-cultural dialogue.
