News archive - WORKSHOPS: Finance in FP7 & Coordinating FP7 Research Projects in Brussels, Belgium

Singleimage (UK) - http://www.singleimage.co.uk is running the following two workshops in Brussels, Belgium in September:

FINANCE IN FP7 - with guest auditor: Wednesday 21 September 2011

COORDINATING FP7 RESEARCH PROJECTS: Thursday 22 September 2011

Framework Seven (FP7)
brings with it extensive financial rules, which cover everything from eligible costs to interest earned on advance payments, from payment terms to penalties, from subcontracting to social costs. This workshop addresses the financial rules and practices of the Cooperation and Capacities Programmes of FP7. Through lectures and exercises, it will give you a practical interpretation of the EU financial rules and guidelines drawing on real experience.
Our guest auditor, presenting the final session of the day, will be Julian Rummins, partner at Littlejohn LLP, chartered accountants. As part of the Polaris consortium of auditors, Littlejohn have audited projects in FP6, FP5 and FP4 on behalf of the European Commission. Julian has over 12 years experience and 3000 assignments behind him, and so possesses an in-depth knowledge of the many issues encountered and consequent errors made by FP participants across Europe in reporting their project costs.
This workshop is essential for finance and administration staff involved in EU research projects, whether as a coordinator or partner. It is also suitable for project managers and professional advisors working on these projects.

COORDINATING FP7 RESEARCH PROJECTS (Day 2):
The workshop covers both the formal basis of the project from contracts to reporting and review, and the practicalities of coordinating a multi-partner, multi-country project to deliver the results promised in the proposal.
The workshop is aimed at research managers and administrators coordinating EU collaborative research projects.  It is also suitable for those managing their organisation’s participation in EU collaborative projects, or developing the management section of proposals for these projects.
