The European University of Tirana, Department of Finance, is organising the 1st International Scientific Conference:  “Albania 2030” A New Roadmap Toward A Sustainable Growth to take place in Tirana, Albania on June 10 to 11, 2011.

A call for papers is now open with an abstract submission deadline on May 5, 2011.

Important Dates: 

  • Abstract submission deadline: May 5, 2011
  • Abstract acceptance notification: May 12, 2011
  • Final Draft Paper’s submission deadline: June 4, 2011
  • Final (publication layout) Paper’s submission: July 31, 2011

Conference Topics:

1. Impacts of global and regional tendencies on Albania’s economic development.

2. Regional political & economic integration.

3. Albanian economy and its development - Competitive & comparative advantages.

4. Albanian economy and perspectives for its economic development.

5. Sources of growth and sustainable economic growth.
6. Challenges for development and integration of the Albanian financial system.

7. Establishing a positive development - environment nexus.

8. Economics & Demographics.

9. Challenges for poverty reduction and human development.


Language: English.
Abstract guidelines: All abstracts shall be submitted in English only, up to 200-250 words. All abstracts must be directly sent through e-mail to: albania2030@uet.edu.al

Fee: EUR 80 Per Author. The conference fee covers: conference materials, conference proceedings, lunches, refreshments.
Papers will be selected through a review process. All accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.

The best presentations will be published in a special edition of ECONOMICUS Magazine (a scientific magazine published by European University of Tirana (UET)), which is an ISSN publication (in Paris).
