News archive - EU Finance Ministers discuss Financial Assistance to Western Balkans

EU finance ministers agreed in Brdo to streamline the way to distribute financial assistance to the Western Balkan countries.

Under the proposal of Slovenian Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk the EU will try to harmonise EU financial assistance and make it more effective. A one-stop-shop for the different channels supervised by the EC, EBRD, EIB and other institutions shall be created which shall enable the WBC to more efficiently use the funds available.
First results shall be available in May 2008.
