News archive - Croatia and the Montenegro sign cooperation agreement

An Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Croatia was signed on January 26, 2009 in Podgorica. The Minister of Education and Science of Montenegro, Prof Dr Sreten Skuletic, signed the Agreement on behalf of Montenegrin Government, whereas Dr Dragan Primorac signed it on Croatian side.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Petar Turcinovic as well as the Consul Of the Republic of Croatia in Kotor, Mr Bozo Vodopija were present at the ceremony.

The Agreement will provide conditions for improvement of the existing scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. It will be realized through support to: Scientific and technological development programmes and projects, exchange of researchers and experts, exchange of scientific and technological information and related documents, joint utilization of equipment and materials, necessary for carrying out the cooperation, organization and participation in scientific conferences, creation of joint scientific and research centres and temporary research teams, as all other types of cooperation, as defined by the two countries.

In this way, the ongoing research cooperation between research communities has been given strong, legal basis for its further development and improvement.

In the period to come, series of activities that will lead to publishing of a first joint call under the umbrella of this agreement will take place.
