The international conference "Soil organic matter - the old truth and new challenges" that will take place in Brussels September 21st.

The aim of the conference is to raise awareness amongst administrations of issues surrounding the level and significance of soil organic matter in the context of climate change. This issue is particularly significant for Poland with regard to the low and constantly deteriorating level of humus in our soil and the high level of acidity.

Aside from representatives from Poland headed by Marek Sawicki, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the conference will be attended by representatives from the European Commission and a large group (150 persons) of interested parties representing science and practice, in particular European administration.

The conference is jointly organised by the Polish Presidency of the Council and the European Commission.
