News archive - [Call for Course Suggestions & Event Announcement] Prishtina International Summer University

Prishtina International Summer University will be held in Prishtina, from July 8-20, 2012, gathering more than 45 professors from all around the world giving lectures in the fields of law, economics, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, etc. Hundreds of students from all around the world will take part in these courses. This summer the Prishtina International Summer University will be offering twenty credited courses.

For this edition it is also planned to organize one Research Course. This course is foreseen for Master students and PhD. candidates. All interested professors may contact the organisers with regard to this course (before February 15, 2012).

The University of Prishtina gives the unique opportunity for widening your knowledge in different fields of study, gaining thus the methodologies of study in an international atmosphere. All courses will be held only in English. After the successful fulfillment of the course, the participants will get certificates according to the European System for Transferring the Credits (ECTS).

In addition, a recreational program will be offered to the students and personnel, including different excursions and events from the cultural life. Information for the forums and events will be published widely at the University of Prishtina during the Summer Courses.

The University of Prishtina will try to support and guide the specific needs of Higher Education in the Republic of Kosova, hence aiming the long-term development in different fields of study region wide. This project is an initiative of the University of Prishtina and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. All the visiting professors that will take part at the PISU will have the unique opportunity to cooperate with local professors of the UP and give lectures together.

The 12th edition will be held on July 8-20, 2012.

NEW: For this edition it is planned to organize one Research Course. This course is foreseen for Master students and PhD. candidates.  All interested professors may contact us with regard to this course.

If your department wants to be part of this program, we strongly encourage you to complete the application form that you will find attached. The application form should be returned to the International Relations Office, as soon as possible, preferably before 15 February 2012.  Please make sure you fill in the application as completely as possible to the last detail.

Please note: Course suggestions without the name of a co-professor indicated will not be accepted. The role of the co-professor is the most important point of contact for the visiting professor as to provide the course together with him/her. Co-professors need to take an active role in class, i.e. provide lectures and with local insight, lead discussions, prepare examinations, organise excursions and field work, etc.

Incomplete forms and languages other than English will not be taken into consideration.
