News archive - Schmidt: Hungary resolutely supports European integration of Serbia

Hungarian President Pal Schmitt reiterated in Novi Sad that Hungary, holding the EU presidency until June 30, resolutely supports Serbia’s European integration.

After talks with the presidents of the Assembly and the Government of the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina, Sandor Egereshi and Bojan Pajtic respectively, Schmidt said that Hungary wants to share its experiences in the process of European integration with Serbia. The Hungarian President pointed out that he was particularly pleased that a community of 300,000 Hungarians in Serbia have their own political representatives, some of whom are provincial officials.
