The Symposium of “Information/Documentation Management and Cooperation among the Libraries in the Balkan Countries” is aimed that librarians, researchers and academic staff managing information and documentation in Balkan countries discuss symposium subjects within the directions of international academic criteria. Goals of this symposium are determined as,

1. to strenghten cooperative efforts in academic, managerial and technical areas among libraries in Balkan countries,
2. to determine a common language among libraries in Balkan countries and set up “Union Catalogues”
3. to set up consortiums among libraries in Balkan countries and provide common access to open sources,
4. to procreate common projects to digitize and share unique works in the collections of libraries and research centers in Balkan countries,
5. to procreate common projects to digitize and share archives in Balkan countries,
6. to strenghten cooperations with the social civil organisations in Balkan countries.

Papers and posters should be submitted via the symposium website by January 31, 2008.
