The EC is encouraging interested researchers and stakeholders to give their input on a draft policy brief on health services research to help to tackle Europe’s health care challenges.

Deadline for contributions: February 8, 2011.

The draft policy brief was prepared by the FP7-funded project health services research roadmap project called “Health Services Research into European Policy and Practice” (HSREPP). The project involves a  consortium of five health services research institutes in Europe, including the London School of  Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

The policy brief results from a conference organised by the project on Health Services Research in  April 2010 in The Hague. It aims at providing an overview of major research priorities based on stakeholder involvement at national and European level, and at offering possible directions for  improving the contribution of health services research to policy. The policy brief document has been made public and is being distributed for consultation among health policy experts in Europe. The intention is to publish the final policy brief in the spring of 2011.

Contributions should be sent  by 8 February 2011 directly to the project co-ordinator of HSREPP: hsr_europe@nivel.nl
