News archive - Opening of the new Innovation Centre for Public Administration RICPA in Thessaloniki

Administration Organisations and Trade Unions from Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus and FYR of Macedonia have joined forces to establish a "Research and Innovation Centre in Public Administration for South East Europe and the Mediterranean" (RICPA), based in Thessaloniki.

The centre’s main goal is to promote the innovative capacity of Public Administration with regard to human resources development, competitive services and the knowledge society, in the framework of new and efficient co-operations at national and international level.
RICPA is the fruit of a joint initiative by the Centre for Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA) and the Supreme Administration of Greek Civil Servants Trade Union (ADEDY). The official opening ceremony was held on January 25, 2008 in Thessaloniki, and was greeted by Interior Minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
