News archive - Award for Scientific Work On European Economic Integration for Young Economists
The author shall submit his/her work (date of submission as in item 6) before his/her 35th birthday. The award was founded to commemorate Olga Radzyner, the former Head of the Foreign Research Division of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, who played a pioneering role in establishing the OeNB’s focus on Central and Eastern European analysis and who died in a tragic accident in 1999. From the very outset of Central and Eastern European countries’ transition from centrally planned economies to market economies, the OeNB has closely monitored, analyzed and supported this process. In this spirit, the award is intended to support young economists in the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia.
The author shall provide proof that both of these conditions are fulfilled by providing copies of the respective documents along with the submitted work.
Apart from the copy of the applicant’s birth or citizenship certificate, the author shall provide a brief CV.
The submitted work shall be typewritten and shall be in English or German. To identify their work as a submission, applicants shall mark the envelope with the reference "Olga Radzyner Award".
The Oesterreichische Nationalbank shall receive the work submitted for this award, at the latest, six weeks before the Conference on European Economic Integration and the work shall be sent in hard copy to the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, Foreign Research Division, “Olga Radzyner Award”, Otto-Wagner-Platz 3, POB 61, A-1011 Vienna, Austria by October 3, 2007.
The award will be given to the winners in the context of the OeNB’s Conference on European Economic Integration. The award winners will be reimbursed for travel and accommodation costs incurred, which shall take place in Vienna November 19-20, 2007.
