News archive - Event Announcement: euroCRIS members meeting

euroCRIS, the professional association of experts in the field of Current Research Information Systems (CRIS), organizes its next members meeting on November 1-2, 2007 in Vienna, Austria. The programme will be assessed in consultation with the host, Vienna University of Technology and the Information Office of the Steering Platform on Research for the Western Balkan Countries (see-science.eu).

Twice a year the professional association euroCRIS (Current Research Information Systems) organizes a members meeting. With these meetings euroCRIS aims at involving its members actively in ongoing actions and projects through parallel and plenary sessions covering the work of the Task Groups and the Board as well as workshops on special topics. Moreover the euroCRIS members meetings address the national and regional communities in the countries where they are held.

The next meeting will be hosted by Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) and will take place on the 1st and 2nd of November 2007.
The SEE research and CRIS community is cordially invited to join this meeting.

The frame of the programme is as follows:

  • A workshop “Data exchange between CRISs” on the first day, organised by the euroCRIS Task Group ‘Workshop and Technical Meetings’;
  • A regional session in which speakers from a.o. Vienna University of Technology, the University of Linz, Graz University of Technology and the Wiener Institut für Sozialwissenschaftliche Dokumentation und Methodik (WISDOM) will report on ongoing projects, CRIS developments and related matters;
  • A general “Jostein Hauge session”, named after the founding father of euroCRIS, in which members have the opportunity to report briefly on latest developments of their projects and CRIS;
  • A business meeting, with feedback from Board and Task Groups. Since this will be the last membership meeting before the 9th euroCRIS Conference “Get the Good CRIS Going: Ensuring Quality of Service for the User in the European Research Area” (CRIS 2008, Maribor (Slovenia), 5-7 June 2008) a detailed preview and information will be given;
  • A session regarding accessing and disseminating scientific information in South Eastern Europe, in which speakers from the SEE research community will report on projects and ideas will be exchanged on collaboration and joining forces with euroCRIS. Programming of this session will be coordinated by Elke Dall (dall@zsi.at).

Apart from travelling expenses and subsistence, participation in this meeting is free. Interested people are kindly invited to complete and submit the registration form on www.eurocris.org (Membership meetings) before the 15th of October. Information on travelling and hotels as well as other relevant messages sent to euroCRIS members will be forwarded to the SEE community by Elke Dall.
