The objective of the project “Food Production and Renewable Energy Sectors Clustering Potentials in the Cross-Border Area” – FRESC was to map opportunities for development of clusters among SMEs belonging to the food industry and renewable energy sectors in the cross-border area in order to improve long-term competitiveness and sustainable development of bordering areas of Hungary and Serbia. The results of the project are, among others, the study “Food Industry Clustering Perspectives” and several visits of stakeholders to Serbia and Hungary, respectively.

The project “Food Production and Renewable Energy Sectors Clustering Potentials in the Cross-Border Area” – FRESC is a CBC IPA project implemented by Chamber of Commerce of the AP Vojvodina, Trade and Industry Chamber of Szeged Csongrad County and Centre for Strategic Economic Studies “Vojvodina-CESS”. The project was financed through IPA Cross-border cooperation programme Hungary-Serbia, within the first call for proposals published in September 29th 2009.

On November 16th 2010, the final and closing conference of the project was held in Novi Sad, in the Chamber of Commerce of the AP Vojvodina. On this occasion, all partners presented their experience gained through the project, while authors of the study “Food Industry Clustering Perspectives” presented main results and findings regarding clustering potentials in the Serbian-Hungarian cross-border area.
