News archive - IMO published the book ´Croatia and the European Union - Membership Advantages and Challenges´

In early January 2010, the Institute for International Relations (IMO) published a book called Croatia and the European Union - Membership Advantages and Challenges in order to summarize and explain the key effects of Croatian membership in the European Union in the fields that directly affect citizens' lives. The book was published with support of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia. The promotion of this book will take place in the EU Information Centre in Zagreb on Monday, January 16, 2012.

The subjects it covers include the ones connected with the negotiation chapters and also others that substantially affect our everyday life and work. Every chapter tries to explain the benefits and possible shortcomings or key challenges, even limitations, which we can expect upon joining the EU and which is not and should not represent an insurmountable obstacle for the Croatian society.

The brochure was prepared by the scientists of the Institute for International Relations and its associate experts for individual fields. It was published as part of long-term research projects financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the republic of Croatia. It was edited Saša Tišma, Ph.D., Višnja Samardžija, Ph.D. and Krešimir Jurin, Ph.D.

The promotion of this book will take place in the EU Information Centre (Trg žrtava fašizma 6, Zagreb) on Monday, 16 January at 10am. The book will be presented by Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia, Paul Vandoren, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić and its editors.

The brochure is available in Croatian language and is available for download here.
