News archive - [Event Announcement] FP7 MidTerm Evaluation Conference: the participation is now free of charge!

Europamedia is organising a conference and networking event on the FP7 MidTerm Evaluation to take place on June 16 to 17. The event will provide participants with the opportunity to share their business activities and project ideas with potential partners. There will be project presentation opportunities and a poster session to facilitate event network activities.

Background and aims

The results of the FP7 Mid-term evaluation were published at the end of 2010. The report developed by the Expert Group highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the programme, foresees changes/trends and formulates ten recommendations.

The improvement of FP7 and preparation for FP8 continues during the Hungarian presidency. The European Commission is preparing a communication and working document, in which it will react to each individual recommendation on how to tackle them. The paper also will outline corrective measures when and if those are planned for the future.

The FP7 Mid-term Evaluation Conference and Networking Event presents the findings and engages parties to discuss the implications.

Structure of the event

To involve the participants to the discussions, the event is organised in various sessions. The first one in the first day will focus on introducing the results of the interim evaluation in an interactive way. In addition, round-table discussion sessions will be held with a panel of experts giving their advice and experiences, taking questions from the audience as well as posing questions to them. Smaller groups will have the opportunity to discuss and focus on issues of great interest. The organisers will also provide networking opportunities to the interested participants.

FP7 Evaluation conclusions

It is a fact that some of the best ideas will never receive funding. Every year thousands of excellent ideas are turned down because the proposals are inadequately developed. Evaluation is generally considered fair with good quality, but all procedures can be improved. And what about the proposals that are positively evaluated? Each year hundreds of European project managers and researchers realise the hard way that winning a European project is actually only the beginning. Grant Agreements are lost during negotiations and cost statements are rejected due to mistakes that could have been avoided by proper project management. Meet the experts and lecturers coming from the top 50 organisations (industry and academia) participating the 7th Framework Programme.

Fees

The participation is now free of charge, due to sponsor.
