News archive - Balkan funds & ministries invited to join ERA-NET on Transport

The already existing ERA-NET Transport is very much open to "enlargement" and invites other countries to join this EU funded network.

--> If you think this could be interesting for your country to be involved in, please take up contact with the organisation involved in or responsible for the programming of transport research in your county as soon as possible and make them aware of this interesting possbility for funding and international/ cross-border cooperation in transport research.

At this moment an important Call for Proposals is open for the topic ERA-NET Transprt III (attached to this news are the Call identifier and the text of the Call topic). The Call will close on 28 February 2012 - EC contribution for the ERA-NET Project is 3 Million Euros.

At this moment, the following EU Member States are involved in the ERA-NET Transport project:
Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Gremany, Greece, The Netherlands, Noway, Poland, Sweden, Switserland and the United Kingdom.

The Balkan countries (programme owners and programme managers) are invited to joint the consortium.

The ERA-NET TRANSPORT pre-dominantly serves to the owners and managers of transport research programmes. By facilitating cooperation among publicly financed transport research programmes it is ENT’s goal to improve the outcome and quality of transport research in Europe. The main mechanism is seen in the structuring of the European Research Area (ERA) for Transport.

Since its foundation the ERA-NET TRANSPORT has initiated and implemented several activities and is currently defining further, even more advanced measures to make the ERA for Transport become reality.

Successful cooperation requires a solid and suitable basis and framework, which will be the subject of coming ENT-driven activities. One of these horizontal future initiatives will be the provision of a database on national transport research programmes and national R&D results. Furthermore the ENT sees a need to encourage and enable less-experienced partners to participate in trans-national cooperation as well as in the European Framework Programme. ENT facilitates this target by supporting these partners in their development of appropriate structures, processes and transport research programmes.

The current invitation is expressed through the TransNEW project in cooperation with the ERA-NET.
