News archive - Study “Needs/Offers Matrix” Updated
Within the framework of the Information Office for the Steering Platform on Research for Western Balkan Countries (see-science.eu), the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has conducted a survey in 2007, which was updated in 2008, aiming to assess the R&D needs of the Western Balkan Countries (WBCs) and the funding programmes that are available to serve those needs.
In this report the R&D needs of the WBCs have been examined in detail. Short country based analyses have been made to indicate the specific needs of each country. Concerning the Offer Part, the multilateral and bilateral funding programmes in response to the R&D needs of the WBCs have been identified and explained in detail, including objectives, scope, funding types, etc.
Under the “International Funding Programmes for WBCs” heading, three new funding sources have been added: Eurostars, European Investment Bank and Erasmus Mundus. Two new Organisations/Programmes from Austria (ADA) and Switzerland (RRPP) have been included. During the updating procedure the national authorities of the region were also asked to confirm or correct the available data. All given feedbacks are included in the Bilateral Agreements table, together with the other sources indicated in the report.
